Is there a dog related book you're dying to read but that doesn't quite fit into your budget? How about a dog related video you think you'd like to see but aren't sure you'd want to own it?
Do you have a bookshelf full of great dog books gathering dust? Videos you'd be willing to share with a friend?
Contact the new Southeast Leonberger Club Library! We will be keeping track of who has which items, and we will put you in contact with the person with the item that you want. Included in this mailing are the details of how our Library will work, the list of items that are currently in our library, instructions for having your items listed in the Library Catalog, an SLCL borrower's form, and information about other SLCL plans!
We ask that all SLC members who have books, videos, Sherpa bags, etc. that they wouldn't mind sharing with other SLC members write up a list of what they have (be sure to include important information such as title and author) and send it to Samantha Fogg, either by postal mail or by e-mail. Samantha has volunteered to keep track of who has what and she will put a list of titles and authors up on the soon to be formed SLC website.
You can view a listing of Books and Videos in the Library Catalog. They are listed alphabetically by author's last name.
SLC members who are interested in borrowing a book, video, or other item, can contact Samantha via e-mail or postal mail, and she will tell you whether the item you are interested in is available and who has it.
The library request form is available as a Word document or as HTML. You will need to print the form off, and mail or fax to Samantha. If you have difficulty filling out the form, email Samantha and she will give you the information you need to fill out the form.
All items borrowed will be have a due date 60 days from the date that Samantha gives you the contact information for the owner of the item. If the borrower and lender agree to a different due date they must both contact Samantha and tell her the new due date.
In order to keep things simple, we are not going to require deposits. However, should a member fail to return the item in question prior to the due date, that member will not be considered an SLC member in good standing, and they may not enter shows, attend picnics, etc. until the item is returned.
NOTE: Borrower is responsible for paying for all postage. Borrower is also responsible for returning the item in its original condition. If the borrower's puppy munches the video, the borrower is expected to replace the video.
